Addison's Journey

Every story needs a sound track and when I think of Addison, I think of this song. So before you continue push play :)

Addison can put a smile on anyone's face. Her big blue eyes and little dimples always make me smile and she knows how to melt my heart. Addison is a miracle baby and her journey is a miracle that gave Addison and her family strength to survive and conquer a very tough surgery. When Allison was 18 weeks pregnant with Addison, the doctors found a congenital heart defect in Addison's little heart. When she was born, they monitored her conditions while family and friends prayed. On October 4th, 2011, when she was 8 months old, the doctors decided to proceed with the surgery to help fix Addison's defect and unfortunately they found another hole resulting in both VSD and ASD defects. It was an emotional time for everyone, but with the help of an amazing hospital, staff and support from everyone, Addison pulled through and recovered. I commend her for her strength and for overcoming this obstacle. It's just simply amazing. Here are some photos from her hospital stay that Allison shared with me. What an inspiration!

With almost a year later, Addison's family is celebrating the anniversary of her life saving surgery. And to honor that milestone, I got to spend the evening photographing the adorable and healthy Addison running and playing with her sister Avery and my son Robert. Here are some of my favorites from my time with her, which I cherished every second of. Love you Addison and so happy that you are here with us today.
